I was provided the platform to study my interests...

...where I focused on an often under appreciated and underutilized space; alleyways. Funding and guidance were provided through the Barbara King Scholarship Award, an annual award given to student proposals in the Landscape Architecture program at Iowa State. Through a 3.5 week trip over the summer of 2015, I trekked throughout Scandinavia in order to better understand this urban form. The hope is to one day be able to adapt our own alleyways into a more efficient and pedestrian friendly form. Below is an overview of my upcoming trip. You can also learn more as I chronicle my studies in my blog.

Below are various axonometric images of each alleyway precedent I encountered on my trip. Each illustration depicts the noteworthy elements of each alleyway precedent. These axonometric images were a part of a larger document that detailed the extents of my study.
